I kind of hope all the attention around Good Omens might spur them to re-release the Discworld books or maybe even commission new recordings, but you just never know with estates and publishers. (Seriously, when they came back they had this weird warning message at the beginning of them not to pirate the books and they'd come after you if you shared them, it was super odd.) Audio quality was definitely another issue, since the publisher provided some really janky recordings on some of them. The first time they got pulled was back around 2000, because the publisher was worried that having the books available on Audible would lead to piracy. I've been looking for verifiable info on this sort of thing for a while, and I figure limiting it to a pretty popular series that we know has availability issues might help me find something concrete. If you've bought any of the Discworld books through Audible in the US, where they've gone on and off sale multiple times, would you mind checking your library to a) see if they're still there and b) see if you can still download them? (If they appear to be missing from your app, please log into the website and view your library there just to make sure- sometimes the app may not be connected to the right storefront and stuff may show up as not available.) If you can't access the store page for the book, that's normal for a title that's been pulled from sale, but you should still have access to it in your library. But since Pratchett's come up, I figure there's got to be Pratchett fans in the Audible subreddit. Digital rights are a pet topic of mine and I've been trying to find verifiable stories of people losing their content, but I've never been able to find titles that were removed wholesale from people's libraries. A discussion recently came up about people missing books from their libraries, and the titles cited were part of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, which has had a very spotty history on Audible.
